Cornerstone has moved!

Cornerstone Institute has moved! During an exciting transformation process in 2009, the well-known Cornerstone Christian College was converted into a comprehensive multi-disciplinary institution, Cornerstone Institute. It is now offering a growing number of new professional and academic qualifications at certificate and degree level. To top it all off, Cornerstone has relocated to a brand new home in the beautiful Brookside building at 11 Lansdowne Rd, Claremont.

It is a very different environment and in a much more appropriate building for higher education. Brookside is well-situated for easy access from Lansdowne Road, close to Claremont Main Road, only five minutes walk from Claremont Station, and near to a number of bus and taxi routes. There is ample secure parking on the site. With Villagers rugby field on one side and the spectacular views of Table Mountain on the other, this is an uplifting environment and ideal for learning and student life.

As of July of this year Cornerstone will for the first time offer a variety of new programs through distance learning tuition, providing an opportunity for students to study part-time while working. Our first newly accredited programme in the distance learning format is the Higher Certificate in Business Leadership and we will be launching a Certificate in Community Development in January of 2011.

With its new name and branding in place, new programmes duly accredited and our new campus, Cornerstone Institute is well positioned to continue its role as a comprehensive and relevant higher education institution in service of the community. The Institute’s new motto is “Christian Higher Education for Leadership in Africa”, encapsulating our vision as we build on our forty year history as an academic institution of excellence accessible to all who consider post-matric higher education.
